While learning about unit 1, Unanswered questions, were answered. This unit explained alot about African American history and touched on multi- topics about the culture and hardships they once went through. The unit consisted of information dealing with "Africa Pre 1500", "The middle passage", "The Racialization of slavery" and "African Culture before european contact". In the unit, there were many dangerous trips and painful hardships." The Middle Passage" for example was one of the most unsanitary, unhuman travel voyage heard of.
During the passage men and women were separated. The men was shakalled together, in held in that position for about 2 or 3 months, at the lower part of the ship. Many attempts, to try and kill the boat crew, to turn the boat around to set new sail. "Africa Pre 1500" was a time when africa was known as "AFRU-ika" in other words the motherland. Africa, itself is considered as the most oldest inhabited place on earth, dated back 7 billion years ago. "African Culture before european contact" were very smart and intelligent people.
After contact with the europeans, Men and women were captured and enslaved against there will. The slave trade before European contact wasn't as forceful against the slaves. The Racialization of slavery, tooken place after the traders, from dutch brought ships full of captured slaves. The spanish ships, were unloaded of there slaves, the slaves were taken to jamestown, in North America. The slaves were treated at indentured servants in the colonial area.
There, were many rebellions, and situations, some that are still happening today.
